At least twelve students and one adult were taken to the hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries after a school bus accident took place near Wheaton North High School on the morning of October 30, reports stated.
Investigations revealed that the accident occurred at around 7:35 in the morning and involved three vehicles. A Honda Accord was attempting to turn left onto Geneva Road from Purnell Street when it hit a trailer being pulled by a van traveling east on Geneva. The Honda was then broadsided by the school bus as it was traveling west on the same road.
Reports indicate that the driver of the Honda along with twelve of the fifty students aboard the bus at the time of the accident were taken to the hospital to be treated for minor injuries.
