Two chicken meat processing company in the U.S. have recalled almost 2 million pounds of chicken products after being notified of consumers suffering from salmonella bacterial infections, CNN reported on July 17.
According to reports, there were 10 or 11 people that were sickened by salmonella bacteria in Wisconsin, Minnesota, and Oklahoma after consuming the chicken products distributed by Aspen Foods or Barber Foods. It is important for consumers to remember that the risk of salmonella poisoning decreases significantly when meat is cooked all the way through.
