A 22-year-old man was charged with a DUI after he was involved in an accident on Illinois Route 23 that injured five people.
According to Urbana police, that man was driving on Lincoln when he attempted to turn left onto Fairbanks because he thought he had the protected green arrow.
He was charged with a DUI and failure to yield at a left turn. Five people were taken to the hospital as a result of the accident, but they have all been treated and released. He is ordered to be in court on July 29. The arrest occurred on the 22-year-old’s birthday.
