An 18-year-old man was injured after falling from a sandstone formation at the Garden of the Gods at the Shawnee National Forest.
The forest is located in southern Illinois and the incident occurred over the weekend as the victim was visiting the park. The park is a popular destination for rock climbers and hikers.
The man fell nearly 25 feet to the ground from a sandstone formation and possibly suffered from a head injury, but was conscious when emergency crews arrived at the scene. The man was near Camel Rock when he fell. The victim has not been identified at this time.
