A teacher at Manteno High School was struck and killed in a pedestrian accident while he was jogging on North Road 3000E.
Emergency crews arrived at the scene just before 7 a.m. and the coach was pronounced dead on the scene. The man was running southbound down the roadway when he was struck by a car near County Highway 9. Police ordered a reconstruction team to be sent to the scene, but the investigation is still currently pending. An autopsy has been ordered at this time.
