Urbana police were called to the scene of a hit-and-run pedestrian crash that occurred when a car struck three college women while they were walking across the street in the campus area.
According to the Urbana police, the accident occurred just after 10:30 a.m. while the three women were walking on Ohio Street and Lincoln Avenue and the car struck them and then fled the scene.
Police were able to stop the car about 10 minutes later after matching a description of the car driving near Windsor Road. The driver was then transported back to the scene. Two women suffered arm injuries and one suffered a leg injury, but all injuries were said to be non-life threatening. The names of those involved have not yet been released.
