Over 1 million lbs of pretzel hotdog products in the U.S. are being recalled by their manufacturer due to a certain ingredient that may cause illnesses to some consumers, myfox8.com reported on November 17.
The federal Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) stated that the frozen hotdog packs of Pretzel Dogs contain soy lecithin that was not declared in the packaging. Soy lecithin reportedly is an allergen that can cause harm when ingested by some people. The eight recalled hotdog products were manufactured from February this year until November and were distributed nationwide. Consumers who fell ill from ingesting the affected hotdogs are advised to seek medical attention.
