Apple Inc. recently announced a recall of 222,000 units of compact Beats speakers in the U.S. due to one report of minor burn injury and several complaints of overheating, the Consumer Product Safety Commission published on its website on June 3.
Reports said the batteries installed in the Beats Pill XL speakers may produce excessive heat that could result in fire or injury. At least one of the eight incidents of overheating speakers received by Apple resulted in a burn injury. The portable wireless speakers were produced in China in five different colors. People who bought the defective speakers are advised to coordinate with Apple to be issued a refund.
