The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) concluded on August 11 that the Walmart truck driver involved in the deadly accident that seriously injured Tracy Morgan in New Jersey was sleep deprived at the time of the accident, Chicago Tribune reported.
According to NTSB, truck driver Kevin Roper was awake for 28 hours prior to the accident on June 7, 2014 that killed comedian James McNair and injured others, including Morgan. However, the Board also found that the severity of the injuries sustained in the accident could have been reduced if Morgan and the other passengers in the limo were wearing seatbelts and had properly adjusted their headrests. At least 21 people were involved in a series of collisions that occurred when Roper failed to slow his truck on the highway.
