A male construction worker in Wilmington was recently killed in a workplace accident, according to an Associated Press report on February 2.
Reports from the Wilmington Police said the fatal accident happened on January 30. Police Chief Phillip Arnold identified the fatality as Plainfield resident Patrick Wilda, 33. Wilda reportedly was trapped between a lift and a beam. Other workers attempted to revive Wilda before rescue personnel arrived. He later died after he being brought to a hospital in Joliet. The state’s OSHA and Police are assisting Wilmington Police in their investigation.
