The News-Gazette recently reported that a Danville motorcyclist died in the early morning hours on Thursday, August 14th after being hit by a passenger vehicle.
The accident occurred in the early morning hours and claimed the life of Christoper A. Williams, 33, a correctional officer at the Vermilion County Jail. Williams was apparently traveling west on U.S. 150 when a teenager attempting to cross the highway collided with his motorcycle.
Williams was transported to Presence United Samaritans Medical Center in Danville, and was later pronounced dead at 1:13 a.m. The teenage driver in the other vehicle did not sustain any significant injuries but was cited for failure to yield. Williams’s autopsy is scheduled to occur at some point today.
