The Illinois State Police (ISP) is focusing on preventing fatal vehicular accidents that are caused by intoxicated or distracted drivers across the state this month, an article of Advantage News reported on December 9.
In the “Drive Sober or Get Pulled over Campaign,” the state police will work to promote safety through informing the public about the risks linked to intoxicated driving from December 16 until January 1. The authorities’ main objective in the campaign is to prevent fatalities by apprehending intoxicated drivers on the road, whether they be driving under the influence of alcohol or other drugs. Police will also extend their work hours on the road to fully monitor for impaired drivers.
