Two men involved in a single-car traffic accident along Grape Creek Road around 7:30 p.m. Monday night remain hospitalized at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana. According to a spokeswoman for the hospital, both men are still in critical condition as of Tuesday afternoon.
The men were described by a witness as tailgating her car and speeding prior to the incident. After a few oncoming cars passed, according to the witness, the man’s pickup truck moved into the opposite lane to speed past her. After passing her, the car swerved off the road and rolled a number of times before coming to a stop. The sheriff’s department is unsure what led to the truck leaving the road.
