One person was injured after a rollover accident that occurred Monday on Illinois Route 1.
According to Illinois police, the accident occurred as the semitruck left the road on Route 1 and the driver tried to get the vehicle back on the road, but the driver overcorrected causing the vehicle to lose control.
The truck was carrying gasoline at the time, but did not spill onto the roadway. Crews came to the scene in order to transfer the gasoline to another semitruck. The driver of the truck was transported to a medical center in Kankakee in order to be treated and was also cited for improper lane usage and failure to wear a seatbelt as a result of the crash.
