A repeat DUI offender from Chicago was convicted of a fatal drunk driving accident, an article on the Chicago Tribune stated October 14.
Reports said on October 11 Dwayne Montgomery wrecked his girlfriend’s vehicle when slamming into a lamp post at a high rate of speed on South Chicago Avenue. Tremayne Bonds, a passenger in the vehicle that Montgomery was driving, was killed in the crash after being thrown out of the car. Montgomery was arrested when authorities found his blood alcohol level to be more than three times the legal limit. He has never obtained a driver’s license, and has had several previous DUI convictions, including one fatal crash in 1995, court documents revealed.
