Samsung issued a recall on September 15 covering their newly released top-of-the-line smartphones after receiving complaints that the devices may catch fire, a report of cpsc.gov reported.
The recall affects the “Galaxy Note 7, ” which may potentially have a defective lithium-ion battery. In the U.S. alone, there were 92 complaints forwarded to Samsung regarding the smartphones burning or catching fire. Dozens of phones have resulted in personal injuries. The Galaxy Note 7 comes in blue coral, black onyx, silver titanium, and gold platinum colors and has a screen size of 5.7 inches. Samsung and the CPSC advised consumers to avoid using the potentially hazardous gadget to coordinate with their phone dealer or network carrier for a free product replacement or to get their money back.
